Salem Al Fakir is a 35 year old singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Stockholm, Sweden, who released three solo albums - his debut "This Is Who I Am" in January 2007; his second album "Astronaut" in March 2009; and his third album "Ignore This" in March 2010.
How would you begin to describe Salem's music? Incredibly diverse, with influences ranging from soul to jazz to classical to pop to rock to 70s/80s retro and even a bit of reggae and prog rock! You can't pigeonhole Salem's music - no two songs sound the same, but they are all wonderful examples of musical excellence with a timeless quality.
Although Salem is no longer making music as a solo artist, in recent years he has written and produced with a number of artists on different musical projects and has achieved international recognition for his work as songwriter and featured vocalist for Avicii and also Axwell and Ingrosso. He is currently one half of the duo Vargas and Lagola, along with his songwriting/production collaborator, the brilliant Vincent Pontare.

salem al fakir was best! He are so beautiful to watch and his voice, it's like omg. I think i'm going to die. He should won but second place is god to. He will still be my hero! /C

I wish all the best for this beautiful artist. His music realy touched me, however, it was only tonight that I heard him for the first time. It is definitely a talented person and my heart is bleeding for this unsucsessful choice by Swedes. Good luck, Salem, Europe the world wants to hear you.

He was so good! And he was so close to winning...
But I think he won something else actually:
He won a big new audience in Sweden and respect!
And the fact that he won the international jury-votes proves that he has a big international career to come that has just begun. Keep on walking Salem, keep on walking! We love you!

no, salem came at second place, he got 183 points and eric saade got 159 points, Salem came at the second place, but they said that it was eric, but it wasn´t!!!

i think he should have won´he has so much talent , he wrote the song can play it and sing it very good!
i already have his songs on my computer. I LOVE HIS MUSIC!
