Poll result: we want Salem in Så mycket bättre!

Thanks to everyone who voted in my latest poll. 67% of those who voted, want to see Salem in a future series of TV4's hit TV show "Så mycket bättre" which has now come to the end of its very successful first series.

I would love to see Salem appear in this show, as it would bring his music to a new audience and it would also allow him to discover some other artists' music too :)))

New Planet Salem poll !

There has been a lot of coverage in the Swedish media about "Så mycket bättre", so I wanted to know your views about this TV show. This gave me the idea for a new poll - would you like to see Salem appear in a future series of the show? The poll will remain open until 12th December and as usual it's just for fun, so remember to vote!

In my own humble opinion, I would like to see him do the show at some point, not just because it would bring his music to a wider audience, but also because the idea behind the show seems to be based on respect for fellow musicians, all from a wide range of ages and styles. Given Salem's love of music, along with his own musical versatility, then I think this show would suit him perfectly. The other special thing about this show is that there are no stupid votes or evictions, it's just a diverse group of artists doing what they enjoy best - making music.

I'd also love to see Bjorn Skifs, Tomas Ledin, Orup and Joey Tempest take part too!

You may be wondering why I'm posting at this time...well I'm not at work this morning :))) so I thought I'd post a little reminder that today is your last chance to vote in my "favourite Salem song" poll. Voting will close at around 19:00 (Swedish time) and I will then reveal your top 20 in order of preference, as voted for by you, the Planet Salem readers. The result is very close at the moment and everything could change within the next few hours!

And after I publish your top 20, I will then publish my own list, which started off as a top 20 but it's now a top 25, and it is a little bit different :)

Whilst on the subject of voting, the nomination phase for Aftonbladet's Rockbjörnen has closed. I guess we will know soon (tomorrow?) if Salem's made it to the next stage, and how many categories he's been nominated in.

New poll: What's your all-time favourite Salem song?

Regular readers will know that there have been previous polls on Planet Salem for you to choose your favourite tracks from all of his three albums released to date.

Well...it's now time for you to choose your all-time favourite Salem song! There are 20 songs to choose from and as usual you can vote for one, or more, or all of them if you want :)

The 20 songs are made up of the 6 songs from each album which received the most votes in previous polls, along with two "wild cards" - two songs by Salem which have not featured on any of his albums - "All Day Love" and "Backseat".

I was originally going to run this poll until the end of September, but I changed my mind and it's now only going to run until 31st August when I'll post the results and publish your all-time top 20 favourite Salem songs. At which time I'll also post my own Salem top 20, and we can compare the differences :)

I've already had a poll for "Astronaut" and "Ignore This" so I thought it was about time for a poll of your favourite tracks on Salem's debut album. The poll will run between now and the end of July. As usual you can vote for one track, or more than one, or all of them if you want!

Then it will be time for the ultimate Salem poll, when your top 5 favourite tracks from "This Is Who I Am" will then compete against your top 5 tracks from "Astronaut" and "Ignore This" during August and September. The final chart, which will reveal your all-time favourite Salem song, will be published on 30th September (my birthday!). So get voting!

"Ignore This" : poll update

I've been having a look at the results so far in my "what's your favourite track on Ignore This" poll...the lead has changed a few times over the last couple of weeks but at the moment there is one clear leader...."Brooklyn Sun", which is just a few votes in front of "Keep On Walking".

The poll will stay open for a few more weeks so remember to vote if you haven't yet done so!

Of course I am listening to Salem whilst I'm blogging tonight...last three tracks played - "Bloody Breakfast" (which is such an underrated song - do any of you like it as much as I do?), "Virgin Mary" and "One of the Others" :))

Vote for Salem in P3 Populär's "25-00" poll!

Swedish Radio's P3 Populär is running a poll on the top 25 Swedish songs of this decade.

If you go to http://www.sr.se/sida/artikel.aspx?programid=2785&artikel=3231729 there is a list of 200 songs and you can vote for your top 10 favourites. The list includes "Astronaut" and also the Salem vs Axwell & Sebastian Ingrosso mix of "It's True".

There are also a couple of Snook songs in there too - "Längst Fram i Taxin" and "Mister Cool", and so many many more good songs (but not "Good Song" - it should have been on the list!) - this list proves yet again that Swedish music is the best!!

Planet Salem is 18 months old today! / Poll results.

I just thought I'd mention this little anniversary tonight - this blog has now been going for 18 months!! It doesn't feel like a year and a half since I started Planet Salem but you know what they say, time flies when you're having fun....and I'm really having a lot of fun doing this blog!
