I was just wondering what will be the next single to be released from "Ignore This", as the follow-up to "Keep On Walking"??
I reckon it will be between "4 O'Clock", "Virgin Mary", "Brooklyn Sun" and "I'm So Happy". Any (or all) of these songs would be a perfect choice for a single.

Självklart I hope for good ole "Brooklyn Sun" to get (even) more attention! But I guess I rather expect to find "Virgin Mary" or maybe "4 O'Clock". They seem like the more typical "Salem single"-material.

ReplyDeleteYou know how much I also love "Brooklyn Sun" - I think that would make a fabulous single choice, and that song also has the potential to become a massive international hit. As does "Keep On Walking" of course :)
I agree with you guys. Another potential hit single would be "Split My Personality" ... It has that Coldplay / "arena pop" feel to it that could work well on mainstream radio.
ReplyDeleteEva...yes of course how could I forget "Split My Personality"? The first time I heard it, I thought this reminded me of Coldplay too! Are you familiar with Keane's music? Whenever I hear the instrumental break in the middle of "Split My Personality", it always reminds me of Keane.

I saw that girl again! From Gothenburg! Salems maybe secret love?
She was standing in Brunnsparken in the middle of Gothenburg, talking to a friend. She had a child with her (hers?). I recognized her super-long blonde hair. I just had to talk to her (my girlfriend was with me too) and I simply asked
- I am so sorry, but I am wondering if you were on Konserthuset and saw Salem Al Fakir in the end of March?
She stared at me for a while with the bluest eyes and silent asked:
- Why? How come you wonder that?
Her friend started to laugh.
- Me and my girlfriend just wondered because we remembered your hair? Did you sat on the front row? Smiling...
- Hm...yes I was there, she replied. And yes, on the front row. She looked kinda suspicious at us wich was understandable...
- Are you Salems girlfriend, my own girlfriend suddenly slipped.
The sweet girl just stared at us, started to blush and the friend even laughed harder.
- No...she started to say. I don´t know him.
The friend started to jump up and down, laughing tears.
- Really? You don´t know him???, the friend comment with a wink...
Anyway, we didn´t say much more except that we did excuase ourself 100 times at least but she just smiled and was very sweet.
If she´s some kind of a secret crush I just can say CONGRATULATIONS SALEM! She´s adoreable!

Definitely rooting for "Virgin Mary". It would be a lost opportunity to shelve it for something else.
